It is far better to hire a vehicle to explore the many beaches that St. Lucia has to offer. The majority of beaches are on the Caribbean side, which is ideal for swimming in as waters are calm. However the Atlantic side beaches serve a good purpose for kite surfing or surfing. One plus factor is the weather. St Lucia Reduit Beach
The five miles of sandy beach on Reduit beach in Rodney Bay is ideal for long walks and swimming in the calm Caribbean waters.
Reduit beach is considered one of the most popular beaches in the North and houses a few hotels. The beach is near to over a dozen restaurants situated on the famous Rodney Bay strip. Water sports facilities are offered on the beach as well as lounge chairs for rental.
St Lucia Pigeon Island Beach
Pigeon Island Beach is another famous beach located in the north part of the island, closer to the Cap Estate area. Perfect for sunbathing and swimming. There is a museum and park at the beach that can tourist easily take in. The beach has an Atlantic Ocean side and a Caribbean ocean side.
Another advantage is climbing the highest point to see magnificent views of Rodney Bay and the north of the island of St Lucia. On a clear day the views of Martinique are a stone through away. There are two restaurants on the Pigeon Island beach.
St. Lucia Jalousie Beach
The sandy beach is volcanic. The area is great for diving and snorkeling because of water clarity. The 1,800-foot drop at the base of the Pitons adds to the underwater diving experience.
The Jalousie beach is set between Gros Piton and Petite Piton, world heritage site. The beach, no doubt is located in Soufriere, which is considered a tourist must see.
St. Lucia Anse Chastanet
The Anse Chastanet Beach is located to the Southern part of the island, Soufriere. The beach is ideal for snorkelers and divers with its sharp drop off, sea walls and Coral Reef.
Though a small beach, it boasts the beauty of naturalness of its volcanic, black sand, which is classed as a rare attribute.
St Lucia Grand Anse Beach
The Grand Anse beach is located north of Dennery to the south of St. Lucia. It easily serves as an ideal stroll on the mile long beach with a background of cliffs for that picturesque setting.
The location was once considered a plantation and is ideal for turtle watching at certain times of the year.
