Pigeon Island

There are many lovely beaches in St.Lucia, but Pigeon Island has held its mark for being one of the most scenic. Gateway Villas, gatepark is just 8-10 minutes walk away from this magnificent beach area. In-fact from some of our hilltop units you get a refreshing view of its ocean.

The beach has an enclosed historical park, located on there is a museum and eighteenth century ruins. As you walk through the park you will read about the history of fighting for the island between the British and the French. Their canons and dungeons are still present today; your camera will welcome the breath taking views.

There is also a secured beach area within the park and it is perfect for relaxing or sunbathing, beach chairs are also available for rental at a fee of $3 U.S. There are also two restaurants of, which are perfect for breakfast or lunch.

So walk over or drive to Pigeon island beach from Gateway Villas, gatepark for an early morning swim and to enjoy the crisp sea breeze, it's just 2 minutes drive away. Or see if you can catch a pretty sunset at dusk.
